The Hinokami Chronicles
Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles
First Impression on the new Demon Slayer game!
After playing a couple hours of this game's campaign, all I have to say is: It's good. It's not great, but it's not terrible either. It's just your simple anime video game that just retells the story of the anime in video game form. I usually hesitate when buying an anime game worth full price of a game ($60), because they all tend to be the same just different gameplay. Nothing too extraordinary about this game, so I'd honestly wait for this to be on sale in the future.
However, there are really good things about this game. One, the soundtrack. Demon Slayer's soundtrack from the anime is incredible, and they pull the soundtrack from the anime into this very game. Another good thing about this is the graphics. Yes, it's an anime game, but that doesn't mean that an anime game can have bad graphics. At times I forget that I'm playing a game whenever a cutscene comes up, because certain shots would look exactly like the anime.
The fighting mechanics are your basic anime layouts. It's an arena fighter involving 2v2 scenarios. Nothing too major. In all honesty, I'd give this game a 6/10. If you're a big Demon Slayer fan like I am, then I recommend this game. However, I will wait till it's on sale to purchase it.
